Not very good this.br> As any horror fan will know, the propensity for piss poor horror to be spunked forth by Hollywood has increased dramatically over the last fifteen years or so, and this is a prime example. Even the presence of the simply delicious Emma Caulfield can't save this one.
br> The plot, for what it's worth:
In the town of Darkness Falls, there is a myth that, when a childs last tooth falls out, a malevolent spirit comes to claim it instead of the traditional Tooth Fairy and, should the child catch a glimpse of this nightmarish spectre, they will surely die.
Ahem.
A few problems here.
One: it's pretty tough to get over the idea that there may actually be a town called Darkness Falls. It's clearly nonsense, as no swine would ever live there. It's like calling a town You Will Die.
Two: By the nature of the plot, much of what happens involves children and, as we all know, children are hideous and deserve to die. They don't here, so we are left ultimately disappointed.
Three: The anti-Tooth Fairy premise simply isn't frigthening.
At all.
Throw into the mix a lame soft metal soundtrack, a CGI'd monster and the sort of snazzy editing you normally only find in a rock video, and this is pretty much a total disaster. It is jumpy in places though, which is why it doesn't get bottom marks, but that is it's only trick of note, and it's hardly an original one, folks.
Best avoid.
