Favourite line:"These creatures are nothing but pure, motorized instinct. We must not be lulled by the concept that these are our family members or our friends. They are not. They will not respond to such emotions."

No introduction necessary here, surely.
George Romero's masterpiece.

The plot:
Following the events of Night of the Living Dead, the zombie plague is spreading, and now seemingly getting to the point of outnumbering humanity.
Society is still struggling on - this can be evidenced by the fact that there are still TV stations operating, and some radio signals are still being broadcast - but life is hard for the survivors.
One group of four individuals take it upon themselves to try to find somewhere where they can hole up, secure and comfortable, and decide upon an abandoned shopping mall. They set up base, barricading themselves in, and hoping that they will go unnoticed, both by zombies and fellow survivors alike.

This is intelligent, thought provoking horror.
The zombies are stunning, and the tension imbued throughout is numbing.
Epic and gripping, surely one of the best movies ever made.
