Favourite line:Kenneth: "Is everyone there dead?" Steve: "Well, dead-ish." Kenneth: "Is everyone there dead?" Steve: "Yeah, in the sense that they all sort of, uh... fell down... and then got up... and started eating each other."

Succesful updating of the classic Zombie-thon.
The similar ingredients are in place - a bunch of survivors holing up in a shopping mall - but this time there is a little more focus on the repercussions if members of the group get bitten.
Should they kill them?
How long is it ok to wait?
Does that make them as bad as the zombies?
The acting is solid enough for horror, whilst the modernisation of the zombies is surprisingly effective. Fast, athletic and mobile, these are scary fuckers.
Reminiscent of the zombies from 28 Days Later, there is intensity in the zombie horde scenes that, whilst unsettling to my horror purism sensibilities, has to be appreciated for the sheer style of it.
Ultimately, what could have been an utter disaster works remarkably well.
