Oh yes folks, it's that time again.
For the 7th time of asking, Friday the 13th is the movie of choice, but is this one going to be as bad as the last one?
Well, no, thank your Lord.

Tina Shepherd is a woman with a traumatic past. When she was young, her inate telekinetic powers were revealed one night when her father drunkenly punched her mother. Terrified, she fled to a boat on the lake (guess which lake, folks) and screamed at her father that she hated him for hitting her mom. As he stood on the jetty pleading with her, unfortunately for him, the powers struck, the jetty collapsed and he was drowned.
Skip forward ten or so years and evil psychologist Dr Crews is taking Tina back to Crystal Lake to confront her demons. In a surge of telekinetic and psychic energy, she senses a presence at the bottom of the lake, and brings it to the surface, believing that it will be her dad. No surprise though that the cadaver she reanimates by dredging it up is none other than Voorhees himself - where Tommy left him at the end of Part 6, for those not paying attention - whose reign of blade and power tool mayhem can commence once more.

Alright, so it's nothing new or original in the slightest, but it's effective enough, and some of the death scenes are highly entertaining.
There's a distinct lack of 'wacky' characters too, which is always a relief.
I've got a feeling it's downhill from here though.....
