Favourite line:"We live with a disease."

When the mother and father of three brothers and one sister pass away, it is down to the eldest member of the family, David Hamilton, to take up the mantel of responsibility, and ensure his siblings safety. That would surely be enough for most young men, but he also must deal with his younger brother Wendell and his twin sister Darlene, who have the rather annoying habit of butchering innocent people, forcing the family to move at regular intervals.
It's not the killing that bothers him, you see, as they need to kill, for the good of the family, but they must always stay one step ahead of the law.
We join them as the youngest of the family, Francis, is blossoming into adulthood, unsure of his feelings, lacking motivation. Though aware of his family's peculiar thirsts, he does not share their bloodlust, instead choosing to show kindness towards the women they keep hanging up in the basement.
But he doesn't let them out.
And just what is it that lives in the small room in the basement?

Creepy and claustrophobic, this has shades of Chainsaw Massacre about it.
It's beautifully shot, too, a mix of hand held camera work and standard used appropriately and effectively.
The actors put in solid performances, Mackenzie Firgens in particular as the darkly dangerous and properly weird Darleen.
Not particularly gory, but it has its moments, this is more about the suspense than out and out horribleness, but don't let that put you off.
A neat little horror flick.
