Classic 70's remake of a 50's flick I am, shamefully, yet to see.
From what I understand, the horror levels are cranked up here, whereas the original played the sci-fi card more strongly.
Of course, this is still a sci-fi movie in a way, but I feel the nastiness of the concept, and the sliminess of the pods just about slips this into horror - but only just.
You know the plot here, so I'm going to be brief:
People are being changed by plant like lifeforms that have descended from space. They look identical, but are inhuman and emotionless, and their mission appears to be to convert everyone on the planet.
Sinister, paranoid, and very stylishly shot, with a great cast too, this is top quality.
