Silly but watchable updating of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, in premise at least. Desmond Harrington is Chris Flynn, some hot shot doctor or other, on his way to an important rendezvous to do with business. Unfortunately, the route he planned to take becomes gridlocked after an accident involving some kind of chemical spillage, and he is forced to redirect, choosing a virtually hidden mountain pass that should reconnect with the freeway some twenty miles further down the road.
Bad move, sunshine.
Whilst not paying particular attention to where he is going he drives headlong into another vehicle and gets out to apologise, only to discover a bevvy of young things whose own car appears to have been sabotaged by barbed wire placed in the middle of the road. The group go to hunt down a phone somewhere in the forest, hoping to find a cabin or a dwelling of some kind, and indeed they do find such an abode. Problem is, the house belongs to a mutant family of cannibals, hideously altered by generation after generation of incestuous couplings, and they are hungry for fresh blood.

Yes folks, we've seen it all before and, yes, it gets a little over the top in places, particularly the depiction of the cannibal family.
But it's gory.
And sometimes that's enough.
There's the odd spot of tension too, as the savages hunt the group down, and the death sequences are all pretty satisfying.
Not even vaguely original, but if cheap shocks is what you are after, you could do worse.
