The first 'Alien' was all about tension, where as this one is just end to end action.
Sigourney really comes into her own in this fine sequel, and is a very dominant lead.
Ok, the marines are ghastly caricatures, wafer-thin character wise, but that is not really the point of the movie.
This isn't meant to be a character study of humanity, more a balls out sci-fi action thriller, and in that it is utterly succesful.
Love it.
