Run of the mill family friendly fantasy that annoyed me, mainly because it was sold as a comedy.
Heh, if this is funny, I need my wit gland examining as I laughed an approximate number of….erm….zero times throughout.
Seriously, not fucking once.
Take off the comedy badge and acknowledge that it is a lightweight bit of vaguely fantasy oriented fluff, and at least people know what they are about to watch.

The plot:
Ben Stiller gets a job in a museum as a night watchmen where the exhibits come to life.

Yep, it's Spearhead From Space but without the hand blasters.
Westworld without Yul Brynner.
Stiller is likeable enough, but that's about the only thing of merit in this utter tosh.
Ricky Gervais is as piss poor as always outside of The Office and his podcast, and appearances by arch-tit Owen Wilson and the usually reliable Steve Coogan don't help matters.
And don't get me started on Robin Williams.
Family fodder frolics, then, but soulless all the same.
