Meet Will, apparently the only posh kid at a normal comprehensive school. His mom thinks he's an imbecile, too.
Will hangs about with Simon, nice chap, just wants to sink his plums.
Will and Simon hang out with Jay. Nice chap, bit of a geezer. Just wants to sink his plums, really.
Will, Simon and Jay hang out with Neil. Nice chap. bit thick though, and all he really wants to do is sink his plums.
At school they are tormented by the majestically demented and cruel Mr. Gilbert, played with genuine relish by Rik Mayall lookie-likey Greg Davies, erstwhile secondary school teacher in real life, don;t you know.
With an anarchic, energetic exuberance, enough cheeky chappie antics to keep a smile plastered on your face throughout, and some genuinely likeable lead characters, this is a real winning sitcom that doesn;t try to be anything other than what it is, which is, bizarrely, a refreshing change in these oh so arch and Post-Modern days.
After three seasons, it seems the writers have lain this one to rest, on the TV at least. There's a movie due out later in 2011, and that will be the end of that which, again, is a refreshing change. a show actually going out when it is at the height of its power, rather than withering and dwindling into insignificance until poor ratings signal the end.
Good stuff all round.
