Jodie Foster is a divorcee with a teenage daughter.
They move into a new house - one that seems much too large for just two people incidentally. All the better for stalking you in - and are immediately informed by the Estate Agent (Realtor for you Yanks) that there is a Panic Room installed, a place you can hide, in perfect safety should, say, three burglars break into your home in the dead of night to rob the place.
Funnily enough, that's exactly what happens, and Mom and daughter find themselves besieged in their own home.
Taut, atmospheric and edgy, just as we have come to know and love from David Fincher, this is a quality thriller through and through.
Yes, the plot is contrived, but the director and performers give it their all.
Guaranteed, you'll be on the edge of your seat throughout.
Excellent.
