Favourite line:"I want, what they want, and every other guy who came over here and spilled his guts and gave everything he had, wants! For our country to love us as much as we love it! That's what I want!"

Dumb but fun actioner that sees Stallone reprising the iconic figure of John Rambo.

The movie starts with Rambo in jail, doing hard labour, presumably for blowing up that small town in the first movie! Troutman pays him a visit and advises him that he has the chance of a pardon, if he goes back to Vietnam to locate a batch of missing PoW's, still held prisoner in North Vietnam. Problem is, the American government doesn't want him to get back alive.
Throw in a bunch of angry Russians, and Steven Berkoff reprising his stock 'Russian military type with a silly accent' from Octopussy and you have all the ingredients for an entertaining, if mindless jungle bullet fest.

I enjoyed this more than I expected to be honest, but it's not a patch on the original.
Still, entertaining enough if you switch your brain into low gear for ninety minutes.
