The war with the 'bugs' still rages, and mankind have had just about enough.

An elite force of troopers finds themselves holed up in an abandoned outpost, barricading themselves in to keep the bugs out. But the bugs have a plan, and have changed tactics:
New, smaller bugs are despatched, which infect huamnity, and have the ability to spread from person to person, killing each host before moving on to the next.

So that's the plot, but I have to tell you the truth, I didn't make it to the end. I turned it off.
Why?
Well, because it is plain rubbish.
The only connection between the original and this disaster is the bugs and, following the initial battle between the bugs and the soldiers, which itself is incoherently directed, nothing happens.
Literally nothing.
And given that the dialogue is wooden and lumpen, that's bad news.
With a much smaller budget than the original, this went straight to video, and you can see why.
A third installment is due some time 2008 (though not sure if it is going to get a cinema release) and it can only be hoped it is better than this one.
Just rubbish.
